A perennial tuberous species, *Drosera aberrans* is notable for its rosette growth habit and its native range spanning southern Australia, including New South Wales, South Australia, and Victoria.

Morphology

It grows in a rosette 3 to 5 cm in diameter with green, orange-yellow, or red leaves.

Distribution & habitat

Southern inland South Australia, southern and central Victoria, and New South Wales.

History & etymology

First illustrated by Ferdinand von Mueller in 1879, initially identified as *Drosera whitackeri*. It was formally described by Lowrie and Sherwin Carlquist in 1992 as a subspecies of *Drosera whittakeri*, and later elevated to species rank by Lowrie and Conran in 2008.
