A distinctive summer-growing annual sundew, *Drosera hartmeyerorum* is notable for its long, scrambling leaves and unique round yellow trichomes found at the base of the leaves. It is native to the north of Western Australia.

Ecology

It traps insects using its leaves, which readily curl around any unfortunate insect that lands on them. It prefers warm wet, sandy, peaty areas with high humidity and low nutrient levels in the soil.

Cultivation notes

It should be cultivated under cool conditions.

History & etymology

Discovered in 1995 by Siegfried and Irmgard Hartmeyer. It was initially thought to be a subspecies of D. indica but was later elevated to species status.
