About

A perennial, tuberous species notable for its semi-erect stems and whorled arrangement of carnivorous leaves. *Drosera humilis* is endemic to the heathlands of Western Australia.

Morphology

The plant features 3 to 5 semi-erect stems, which measure between 3 and 15 cm in length, bearing carnivorous leaves arranged in whorls around the stems.

Distribution & habitat

Western Australia, specifically the region from the Moore River north to Kalbarri and east to Ajana and Wongan Hills. It prefers winter-wet sandy soils in heathland.

History & etymology

The species was first formally described by Jules Émile Planchon in 1848. The taxon was subsequently reorganized and assigned to a taxonomic rank under *D. stolonifera* in 1906 by Ludwig Diels and again in 1982 by Neville Graeme Marchant.
