History & etymology

Described in 2021 by Thilo Krueger and Andreas Fleischmann. The specific epithet margaritacea comes from the Latin margaritaceus, meaning 'pearly' or 'pearl-bearing', referring to the milky-white glands and the rounded anther swelling.
