About

Also known as sulphur-flowered sundew, *Drosera sulphurea* is a scrambling perennial tuberous species notable for its small, shield-shaped carnivorous leaves and yellow flowers.

Morphology

The species produces small, shield-shaped carnivorous leaves along stems that can reach heights of 40–60 cm (16–24 in).

Distribution & habitat

Endemic to Western Australia, where it is found in coastal areas.

History & etymology

First described by Johann Georg Christian Lehmann in 1844. It was later reduced to a variety of *D. neesii* in 1864, and subsequently synonymized with *D. neesii* by N. G. Marchant in 1982, before being reinstated by Allen Lowrie in 1999.
