A distinctive terrestrial climber, *Nepenthes latiffiana* is notable for its combination of green-yellowish-brown (peachy) coloration and the unique 'flap-like' structures on the peristomes of its upper pitchers.
Field notes
Morphology
The species features a climbing stem with simple hairs and a cylindrical cross section. Its pitchers are characterized by green-yellowish-brown (peachy) coloration with several red blotches on the lower pitchers, and light green upper pitchers that possess 'flap-like' structures on the lateral sides of the peristomes.
Distribution & habitat
It is found on hill slopes with rocky substratum at an altitude of about 1,000–1,100 m above sea level in Setiu, Terengganu, Peninsular Malaysia.
History & etymology
The species was described in 2020 by Mohd Norfaizal Ghazalli, Amin Asyraf Tamizi, and Dome Nikong, and was named after Emeritus Professor Dato' Dr. Abdul Latiff Mohamad.
