About
This unique species, *Nepenthes minima*, is notable for being the only pyrophytic *Nepenthes* species known outside of Indochina and the Philippines, thriving in environments adapted to survive wildfires.

Distribution & habitat
Central Sulawesi, Indonesia, in seasonally dry grasslands at elevations of 1,000–1,700 m above sea level.
History & etymology
The specific epithet minima, Latin for "smallest," was chosen as an antonym to *N. maxima*, reflecting its smaller size. It was described in 2009 as a cultivar from the area around Lake Poso in Central Sulawesi, originally listed as *Nepenthes maxima* 'Lake Poso'.
