About
A notable species of pitcher plant, *Nepenthes rowanae*, endemic to the Cape York Peninsula in Australia. It was historically considered an extreme growth form of *N. mirabilis* but was elevated to its own species status based on distinct morphological and ecological traits.

Morphology
The species is noted for its campanulate-infundibuliform upper pitchers, a character that distinguishes it from *N. mirabilis*.

Cape York Peninsula, Australia.
History & etymology
The epithet is based on the personal name Rowan. It was initially placed in synonymy with *N. mirabilis* by B. H. Danser in 1928, but was elevated to a distinct species in 2005 following field observations.
