A notable tropical pitcher plant, *Nepenthes stenophylla* is characterized by its attractive, funnel-shaped pitchers and is endemic to Borneo. It is part of the loosely defined *N. maxima complex*.
Field notes
Morphology
The species produces attractive funnel-shaped pitchers up to 25 cm high. The lid shape is narrow.
Distribution & habitat
Endemic to Borneo, occurring at elevations between 900–2,100 m.
History & etymology
The original description of *N. stenophylla* was based on a plant raised from seed in a greenhouse in England. It has been historically confused with *Nepenthes fallax*.
Conservation
Listed as Least Concern on the IUCN Red List.
