Morphology
The species is characterized by heart-shaped (truncate) leaves and very large pitchers, which can reach up to 40 cm in height.
Distribution & habitat
Endemic to the Philippines, specifically the islands of Dinagat, Leyte, and Mindanao, growing at an elevation of 0–1,500 m above sea level.
Ecology
While it is capable of trapping mammals, such as mice, the calcium-heavy bones of the prey are not digested.
