This striking species, *Nepenthes ulukaliana*, is notable for its unique pitcher morphology, featuring a dense covering of filamentous lid hairs and lower pitchers that are amphora-shaped to urceolate. It is endemic to the high elevations of the southern Titiwangsa Range in Peninsular Malaysia.

Morphology
The pitchers are adorned with a dense covering of filamentous lid hairs measuring less than 1 mm long. The lower pitchers have an amphora-shaped to urceolate form, and the peristome is planar at the front with a well-defined column that emerges abruptly and perpendicularly at the rear.
Distribution & habitat
Endemic to the southern Titiwangsa Range in Peninsular Malaysia, found at elevations ranging from above 1,200 meters up to 1,772 meters above sea level.
Ecology
The species grows both terrestrially and epiphytically within mossy forests and is also commonly encountered in areas with known disturbances such as roadsides.
History & etymology
The name was derived from Gunung Ulu Kali, the type locality of the taxon.
