Also known as the sugaralmond plant or moonstone, *Pachyphytum oviferum* is notable for its succulent, egg-shaped leaves and striking blue-purple coloration, which resemble sugared almonds.

Morphology
The leaves are succulent and egg-shaped, ranging from 3 to 5 cm long, 1.8 to 3 cm wide, and 8 to 17 mm thick. The stems are about 20 cm long and 1 cm thick, bearing approximately 15 leaves. The plant also produces an inflorescence on a 30 cm stem with scarlet, bell-shaped flowers.
Distribution & habitat
Mexico, specifically the rocky cliffs of the state of San Luis Potosi, at an altitude of 1200 meters.
History & etymology
The name *Pachyphytum oviferum* translates to 'thick plant bearing eggs.'
