A notable orchid, *Paphiopedilum delenatii*, which was believed to be extinct for decades before being rediscovered in the wild in 1993. The flowers are described as fragrant.
Field notes
Distribution & habitat
Southeastern Vietnam, at elevations of 800 to 1300 meters. Plants are found growing in granite pebbles and mossy tree trunks, usually near water in a shady area.
History & etymology
Described in 1924, the species is named after Delanat, a French orchid enthusiast of the 1900s.
