A popular houseplant, *Peperomia polybotrya* is known by the common name raindrop peperomia due to its distinctive, glossy, teardrop-shaped leaves. This perennial species is relatively easy to cultivate and features unique, branch-like petioles.

Morphology

The plant grows in a small tree-like form, reaching 30 to 40 cm tall, with petioles forming 'branches' ending in large succulent and glossy teardrop-shaped peltate leaves. The flowers appear as greenish white slender spikes.

Native to Colombia, Ecuador, and Peru.
