A terrestrial, perennial carnivorous plant, *Utricularia babui* is notable for its wide reported distribution, ranging from open forests in India to wet rock faces in northern Thailand. It was previously confused with *U. graminifolia*.

India (Kolhapur district) and northern Thailand (Chiang Mai Province), found at altitudes between 700 m and 1,650 m.

Described in 2005 by Shrirang Ramchandra Yadav, M. M. Sardesai, and S. P. Gaikwad.
