Distribution & habitat
Endemic to Venezuela, found on wet sandstone cliffs near waterfalls on tepuis such as Ptari-tepui, Toronó-tepui, Apacará-tepui, Serrania Guanay, and the Chimantá Massif, at altitudes ranging from 1,760 m to 2,450 m.

Originally described and published by Julian Alfred Steyermark in 1953.
